Traumatic paralysis

Paralysis is the loss of functioning of muscle and nerve. It is the usually sensory loss in the affected area and damaged the central nervous system, mostly the spinal cord. Paralysis is two types, if the half side of the body paralyzed is called paraplegia and paralysis of both arm and legs is called quadriplegia. In the case of paralysis, the brain is unable to send messages to the different parts of the body due to various reasons.

Causes of paralysis
The main causes of paralysis are as follows:
Stroke- stoke is one of the main causes of paralysis, almost 30% of people suffer from paralysis because of stoke. Paralysis of stoke is included, such as hemorrhage (one-way paralysis), hemiparesis ( weakness and inability to move one side of the body), dizzy ( weak and stiff muscle), dysphagia ( throat irritation means something not to swallow), foot drop ( inability to lift front leg).

Spinal cord injury- this is the second most frequent cause of paralysis due to the various reasons after stoking like an accident, falls, birth defect, and many others.

Multiple sclerosis- multiple sclerosis does not always cause paralysis because it is the chronic disorder of the central nervous system. The patient affected by this will need like a wheelchair or crutches due to fatigue, weak muscle or balancing problems.

Brain paralysis - it is the neurodegenerative disorder, which results from an abnormal growth or part of the brain that also controls communication. It is mainly caused by brain stoke.

Neurofibromatosis – it is the genetic disorder that occurs due to the tumor growing around the veins, the drug can be paralyzed by being damaged. Usually, the tumor can be malignant and can cause cancer.

Brain injury – paralysis can also occur due to the injury to the brain when it suddenly and violently hits an object on the head. Or if an accident hits the head, such injuries can lead to partial or permanent paralysis.

Symptoms of paralysis

Symptoms of paralysis may include muscle spasms and weakness. It is actually the loss of the whole body that is deemed as paralysis. Paralysis may affect one part of the body, the upper part of the body, or just the legs. It can affect the entire body except for the eyes. There are some other symptoms that can cause paralyzes such as loss of consciousness or illusion, dizziness and listlessness, trouble breathing, uncontrolled saliva dripping from the mouth, cognitive difficulty, behavioral changes, loss of bowel or bladder control, losses or sight or hearing, and nausea.

Treatment of paralysis

The doctor’s first step in treatment for paralysis can be to get the examination done, will suggest you go through some tests like x-ray, CT scan, MRI scan, electromyography, and etc to the exact reason and type of paralysis one has.

Researchers and experts believe that recovery from some type of paralysis is possible. The purpose of the treatment of paralysis is to restore the connection between body and brain. Experts have designed a wearable electronic device that helps correct hand and arm paralysis by disturbing the fewer electrical currents to the nerves that activate the muscle of hand and arms. Also with the help of a neuromodulator or spinal cord simulator which is an electronic device to treat paralysis and even stimulate the dead/ injured/ damaged non-working nerves. Physical therapy is used to treat paralysis. Treatment such as heat massage, physiotherapy, and exercise are done to stimulate the nerves and muscles.

So, it is possible to treat many types of paralysis with modern techniques. If you are struggling with any symptoms of paralysis, immediately come under the treatments of our experts at Spine Solution India. To book an appointment call us at 011-45570043/7065157366
